Michael Carrick and Matheus Cunha reportedly clashed during Manchester United’s 4-1 defeat by Como

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick and forward Matheus Cunha reportedly had a heated exchange at half-time during Wednesday’s 4-1 Champions League defeat by Como.

According to United Zone, Carrick criticised Cunha for his performance and made his displeasure clear during the interval. The Brazilian did not accept the manager’s comments and reacted angrily to being substituted.

Cunha was replaced by Amad Diallo at half-time, with Como leading 1-0 at that stage. Manchester United were still within reach of recovering from the deficit, but went on to suffer a heavy defeat against the Italian side.

Reports suggest the tense mood continued in the Manchester United dressing room after the final whistle, adding to speculation about unrest within the club.
