Matt Hardy reflects on the first time WWE would attempt to split he and Jeff Hardy up as a tag team, noting Jeff being uncomfortable.

Over the years, the Hardy brothers have squared off on a number of occasions and feuded, and always have found their way back to each other as a tag team in pro wrestling.

In a new interview with The Stunner where he would fact check his Wikipedia page, Matt Hardy spoke about the first attempt WWE made to split up the brotherly tag team, noting that Jeff was uncomfortable with some pitches, leading to both brothers being taken of WWE TV.

“There was a storyline for our characters and they wanted us to split up and there was a couple things that we were asked to do and Jeff was uncomfortable and didn’t want to do it so we were off TV for a while
as a punishment, I guess. But we still did live events, and then they put us back together because we knew we weren’t ready to separate and split up as a team yet.”

Elsewhere in the same interview, Matt reflected on having to sew the brother’s tights during their run with the WWE in the 90s. You can read more about that here.
