Jocelyn Blanchard, appointed ESTAC Troyes sporting director over the summer, has already left his role, the club have confirmed. L’ESTAC did not provide a justification for the Frenchman’s exit.
Blanchard arrived three months ago. Despite the club earning promotion to Ligue 1 last season, Antoine Sibierski left the club during the interseason. Blanchard was chosen as his successor. As revealed by Romain Molina, the Frenchman was the subject of an internal enquiry. That enquiry pertained to complaints about his behaviour towards other employees at the club.
Elisa Sicking-Bressler, the head of safeguarding at the City Football Group, had travelled to the French club in order to conduct interviews regarding the complaints.
In their press release, Troyes, currently second from bottom in Ligue 1 with just four points from their opening seven games, gave no reason for the sporting director’s exit. Attempts to recruit Blanchard’s successor at the Stade de l’Aube were underway.
