Manchester United have officially unveiled a new shirt featuring a major sponsor change, adding another design to the club’s famous collection.
Snapdragon has occupied the front of United shirts since replacing TeamViewer in 2024, becoming increasingly associated with the modern era at Old Trafford.
The technology brand is now in its third season as principal shirt sponsor.
Its agreement was extended until 2029, meaning there is currently no suggestion Snapdragon is permanently disappearing from United’s match kits.
It follows some truly iconic names across United’s chest.
Sharp became synonymous with Sir Alex Ferguson’s early dominance before Vodafone adorned the Treble winners’ successors.
AIG featured during Cristiano Ronaldo’s first spell and the 2008 Champions League triumph, before Aon, Chevrolet and TeamViewer followed.
Snapdragon has developed its own United connection.
It even lends its name to the pre-season Snapdragon Cup, which United won for a third consecutive year this summer after beating Atletico Madrid 2-1 in Stockholm.
However, supporters can now purchase an official United shirt carrying something completely different across the front.
United confirmed on their official website that they have launched a new United x adidas SPZL collection, inspired by northern terrace culture and the club’s heritage.
The centrepiece is a retro-style black football shirt which replaces Snapdragon’s familiar branding with large white “SPZL” lettering across the chest.
Red adidas stripes run across the shoulders, while the shirt carries a vintage adidas Spezial patch and an embroidered Red Devil crest accompanied by “MUFC”.
The back features an oversized red Spezial Mod Trefoil alongside “SPEZIAL F.C.” branding.
It is important to stress that this is a lifestyle release rather than United’s new competitive match shirt, so Snapdragon remains the principal playing-shirt partner.
Bryan Mbeumo, Dominique Janssen and United legend Dimitar Berbatov helped launch the collection at Old Trafford.
The wider range also includes a long-sleeved polo, track jacket, track pants and ZX 7300 footwear, with the collection officially released on October 7.
