A town centre bar wants to open from 6am - on Stoke City away days. Amber Taverns has applied to vary its premises licence for Hogarths on Newcastle-under-Lyme High Street.

The venue is currently licensed to open and sell alcohol from 7am on Saturdays and from 10am Sunday to Friday. But Amber Taverns wants that start time brought forward to 6am when Stoke City are away.

The licensing application states: "The proposed variation is to extend the hours for the sale of alcohol for consumption on and off the premises and the hours for the opening of the premises to start at 6am on any day when Stoke City FC men’s first team are playing away from home."

Newcastle Borough Council is running a public consultation regarding the premises licence variation application until Monday 19 October. To take part in the consultation call the council's licensing team on 01782 717717 or email here.
