PSG are the latest team to be linked with Chelsea right back Malo Gusto, who remains a player the Blues could sell.

The start of this summer saw a number of rumours about Malo Gusto being a potential transfer target for Manchester City, but there’s not been much movement on that front since.

Talk of a potential departure hasn’t totally gone away though. Today the Sun are reporting that PSG are also considering a bid for the France international.

Gusto competes with Reece James to play at right back for Chelsea, although the Blues have signed Marco Palestra this summer, indicating Gusto could be available. So far the £75m price tag the Blues slapped on him has put off all suitors.

PSG unlikely to meet Chelsea’s monster asking price on Gusto

Given PSG have Achraf Hakimi, the best right back in the world, on their books already, it seems unlikely they’d spend the £75m or so that Chelsea are asking for for Gusto. But it’s not impossible – they certainly would like a specialised player as backup to the Moroccan. We will have to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks once the former Lyon man is back from his post World Cup holiday.

We remain convinced Chelsea would sell him at the right price – we just don’t think PSG will be the ones offering it.

In other news…

The deal to sign Pep Chavarria is inching closer – according to Fabrizio Romano, the fixed fee the Blues will pay for the defender is now agreed.

Diogo Costa is another player who has been linked to Chelsea in recent days – but the briefs sent out to journalists today make it clear that’s not likely to happen.
