For the second time this season, the Boston Celtics are set to take on the Milwaukee Bucks. The first contest between the two Eastern Conference foes took place at TD Garden on Wednesday night, with the Green Team prevailing 109-102 without star forward Jayson Tatum active. The rematch will be in Milwaukee at the Fiserv Forum on Sunday evening.
Although the 7-2 Celtics are facing the 1-8 Bucks, who find themselves at the bottom of the East, they have no injuries to report and don't seem to be resting anybody in Milwaukee. The C's have defeated the Bucks four times in a row (dating back to February of 2026) and haven't notched five straight victories against them since March of 2012. Thus far, the Bucks look like one of the worst teams in the NBA, however, they held a double-digit lead over the Toronto Raptors on Friday night before falling apart and extending their losing streak to five games. The struggling Bucks nearly came back from a 22-point deficit in Beantown, too, yet ultimately faltered down the stretch. A win on Sunday would give the Celtics an impressive 8-2 start to the season, which is the same record they had through 10 games during their 2023-24 title campaign.
The Celtics are 7-2 overall and are aiming for their third consecutive win. They currently sit in second place in the East and are less than a game behind the 8-2 Philadelphia 76ers.
Meanwhile, the Bucks are a dismal 1-8 and in last place in the East. Their five-game losing streak is the fourth-longest in the league at the moment.
The Celtics and Bucks will both be at full strength on Sunday night, as their injury reports were empty.
