Bruno Guimaraes was Arsenal’s saviour in their game against Leeds United.
The Gunners were uninspiring in the first half, and their level dropped even more at the start of the second. That helped Leeds open the scoring through James Justin.
Riccardo Calafiori then levelled the game with a strike from close range, but the most decisive action of the match came from Guimaraes after he was brought on as a substitute.
The Brazilian scored a lovely goal from the edge of the box to win Arsenal the game.

Everybody knew how good Bruno Guimaraes was when Arsenal signed him in the summer.
The Brazil international cost a lot of money, but the Gunners didn’t care because they knew they were bringing in a proven match-winner. That has been proven right twice already.
Guimaraes scored a stunning goal against Sunderland after coming on as a substitute at the Stadium of Light before the international break. That was a strike worthy of winning any game.
Against Leeds this afternoon, the former Newcastle man did it again. He was introduced by Mikel Arteta in the second half and repeated what he did against the Black Cats – scored the winner.
Each of Guimaraes’ first two goals for Arsenal have come as a substitute, and they have both been match-winning games. That does not happen too often.
In fact, the last player to score his opening two goals for the club, both of them being winners, was Arsenal legend Thierry Henry all the way back in 1999. (Harvey Downes on X)
That earned Guimaraes the Man of the Match award against Leeds today, despite only being on the pitch for 27 minutes.
Guimaraes only came on in the 63rd minute of the game, but he ran the show.
In his 27 minutes on the pitch, the Brazilian had 30 touches of the ball and completed 20 of 21 attempted passes, maintaining a stunning 95 per cent passing accuracy. He also registered five line-breaking passes, regained possession five times, won four duels and made three passes into the final third.
To top it all off, Guimaraes scored a phenomenal goal to help Arsenal win the game.
After a difficult game against Brighton last time, Guimaraes has won the fans back on his side. He needs to maintain this level going forward.
