To say he’s brilliant, the rumours surrounding the future of Morgan Gibbs-White at Nottingham Forest haven’t been particularly loud this summer.

Last season, Gibbs-White scored 18 goals and claimed seven assists as Forest survived relegation and also reached the semi-final of the Europa League.

Morgan Gibbs-White has two years to run on his Forest contract so what should the club’s next move be?

Is there any chance at all that we can convince him to sign a new contract?

Gibbs-White almost signed for Tottenham 12 months ago and there was some anxiety when they were splashing the cash earlier this summer that they might return for the Forest number 10.

One surprising link which emerged was with Bayern Munich, but now a top German journalist has dismissed the concept of him moving to the Bavarian giants.

Much to the pleasure of Forest, this deal is a non-starter, it would seem – at least for this summer!

Bayern are going to keep hold of Michael Olise and that for now means that they have no desire to pursue any more midfielders.

Christian Falk has been quizzed on Gibbs-White potentially moving to the Bundesliga giants in the near future and it appears there is no substance to the reports.

He said: This is not true. You know, the midfield Bayern Munich has many good players on this position. Joshua Kimmich there is also behind Tom Bischoff who will get in this team now he is making pressure on the players like Pavlovic he’s also there Konrad Laimer who can play there you have a young talent now he signed a new contract on this position they sold also Aseko who could play on this position and is a very big talent so no Bayern Munich is not searching on this position.

“The Daily Mail, yes, they wrote that he could be a replacement for Michael Olise. Uh, I don’t see that. And don’t forget Bayern Munich won’t sell Michael Olise in this transfer window. So no rumours about that.”

Gibbs-White will once again remain integral to Forest this season and it’s a relief that it looks like he won’t be sold.

After losing Elliot Anderson to Manchester City, Forest can ill afford to lose any more top players, and the hope will be that Gibbs-White is leading the Reds out on the opening day of the season.
