Annika Sorenstam and John Daly found themselves at the NASCAR garage on Championship Sunday
Daly and Spire Motorsports created bold paint schemes for the races during NASCAR's 2026 Championship Weekend at Florida's Homestead-Miami Speedway this weekend.
Prior to the main event near Miami, Friday's Baptist Health 200 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Daly was highlighted on the hood of Nick Sanchez's No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado RST.
Two days later, his animated image featured prominently on the hood of the No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, driven by Daniel Suarez, for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race.
Daly's signature penchant for vibrant, eye-catching pants was shown on the paint designs. Per Spire Motorsports, the race cars highlighted a wide-ranging color scheme of vivid pink, blue-green, purple, and orange, accented by a racing stripe composed of miniature pop-art portraits of Daly.
"Some paint schemes are designed to blend in. This isn't one of them," Spire Motorsports President Bill Anthony said in a press release.
"Modo has never been shy about having fun with this sport, and John Daly is the perfect fit for that personality. We're proud to carry their colors on both the No. 77 and the No. 7 at Homestead, and we are confident fans will spot them from the top row of the grandstands. We're grateful to Modo for bringing this kind of energy to the finale and giving fans one more reason to smile at Homestead."
Daly joined Suarez and his entire No. 7 team on the starting grid before the green flag on Sunday.
"I've had my face on a lot of things over the years, but never on a NASCAR Cup car doing 180 mph," said Daly in the same press release.
"Usually, it's my pants getting all the attention, but now I've got a race car stealing the show. I'll be at Homestead cheering on Daniel and watching a few hundred of me flying around the track. Hopefully, they can go faster than I can walk to the 19th hole!"
Reflecting on his major golf victories, Daly secured the 1991 PGA Championship at Crooked Stick as a ninth alternate, followed by a triumph at the 1995 Open Championship at St. Andrews.
Over the decades, he has successfully translated his on-course accomplishments into a variety of business endeavors off the course.
Starting in 1997, golf fans consistently spotted him selling merchandise from his RV in a Hooters parking lot on Washington Road during every Masters week. Following the restaurant's closure in 2025, he secured a deal with Topgolf to hold appearances at its Augusta venue throughout the 2027 and 2028 Masters tournaments.
