It's not just fans of the Boston Celtics who have let it be known that they are disappointed to read about beefs between Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown – real or imagined. We can now add former Celtics teammate Blake Griffin to their ranks as well.
The former Boston big man came out against the rebirth of the narrative created by a Brown emoji comment on a recent Tatum documentary addressing the trade of the Georgia native to the Philadelphia 76ers on a recent episode of his "NBA on Prime" show. "I just feel a little bit disappointed, and I think watching that clip and hearing Jayson talk, you can hear the disappointment in his voice," said Griffin.
"Being their teammate, being inside the locker room, I know (Tatum) cares about (Brown)," added the Celtics center, who played with Tatum and Brown for the final season of his NBA career (2022-23).
"Both of them should keep in perspective what they have accomplished and not be short-sighted about what has happened over the offseason," he added.
"Their relationship is special. It's not often guys have those types of careers and win a championship for a storied franchise like Boston."
