Invictus Gaming vs LYON: Worlds 2026 Predictions and Odds
Invictus Gaming vs LYON

It’s crunch time at the 2026 League of Legends World Championship as Invictus Gaming faces LYON. After last night’s historic NA win over the LPL, iG will need to regain trust in the region and get back to business. This series is closer than many think; LYON are a very strong team and, on their day, can compete with the best. iG, however, has that magic on the biggest stage, so expect TheShy to do his best to pull them over the line.

The Strength of LYON at Worlds 2026

LYON has proven all year that they won’t waver when facing the world’s best teams. On many occasions this year, LYON has come within an inch of taking down Gen.G, BLG, and Hanwha Life. There is no shame in losing to these teams, but saying an LCS team should feel gutted about losing shows just how strong LYON is.

Just look at their first game against Gen.G, for example — many are saying it was one of the cleanest games of the tournament, if not the cleanest. This is what fans have come to expect from LCS squads with Inspired on the roster. Inspired is the ultimate leader and has proven time and again that he can stack his team against the best in the world. When NA needs a team to step up, you’d best bet LYON will.

Invictus Gaming is a formidable opponent, but LYON can exploit their notable weaknesses and that is reflected in the 2026 Worlds odds. Berserker is in great form, and they’ll need him to keep playing well, as strong ADCs have been the it factor in many Worlds games so far.

☑️ My Prediction

One of the biggest takeaways from Worlds 2026 is that the floor for the top Eastern teams is much closer to the West now. If the East, like Anyone’s Legend last night, has a bad day, the West is there to pounce and can consistently take games off of the LCK and LPL. The LPL has been one of the worst-performing regions in the tournament, at least by the standards set.

LPL fans would panic ahead of the tournament if we told them iG and TES would be the region’s best-performing teams. Preparation also usually favors the Western teams, specifically the LCS. Whether they are being disrespectful or not scouting properly, each game one for the LCS and LEC has seen those teams get favorable picks, which has led to wins. I think LYON is going to take this series 2-1.
