Sebastian Fundora Aims To Become Undisputed Champion

Las Vegas, Nevada – On Saturday night, Sebastian “The Towering Inferno” Fundora (25-1-1, 17 KOs) defended his WBC junior middleweight championship at The Chelsea inside the Cosmopolitan Casino against the very tough and gritty Ermal “The Albanian Sniper” Hadribeaj (23-1-1, 8 KOs).

It was a much more challenging match than many expected; Hadribeaj tested Fundora on the inside by making him miss and countering him with an efficient attack. The Albanian Sniper’s total connect rate of 32.3 percent was more effective than The Towering Inferno’s 25.9
percent.

However, Sebastian did outland Ermal in total punches 202 to 144, outlanding him8 of the 12 rounds(Compubox). Fundora was able to score the finishing blow in the last second of the twelve-round fight, winning the fight by controversial knockout.

After the fight, Sebastian said, “It was an interesting fight. I had to go back and fight on the inside and show everyone again that I can still do that. It was dramatic to knock him out at the last second, but we’ll go back to the gym and fix some things.”

He added whom he’ll like to fight next by saying, “I want to go for undisputed in this division. We’ll break either Jaron Ennis or Josh Kelly down just like the last guy and the guy before that. We’ll keep breaking them down. When asked of the two whom he expects to win, Fundora answered, “I do favor Boots.” Meaning him and promoter Sampson Lewkowicz believe it will be Boots whom they’ll have to negotiate for the undisputed crown, but they appear they’ll be playing hardball in negotiations.

Lewkowicz told the media after the fight what he expects the terms of the contract to be, “It doesn’t make any difference…because we need each other. We need 50-50 because we want to unify. It doesn’t matter how many titles. I see so many st**d guys saying on the internet saying he has three belts. You have only two. People already saying he has three.

So many people saying he have three belts. Who’s he fighting? A bum? I respect boxing, and I tell you Kelly can fight.” Sampson went on to state he had already spoken to Jaron’s advisor on the expectations of terms, making it known it should be a 50-50 fight, and hopes they don’t deviate from it by requesting a higher percentage for themselves.

However, if the fight for undisputed does happen next year, the winner of the Boots-Kelly fight will be a three-belt holder bringing the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles to the table, with Fundora holding the single WBC belt. The undisputed showdown is a fight fans will want to see and will truly crown the junior middleweight king.

Hopefully both sides can come to an amicable agreement, and the fight won’t get derailed as were the contract negotiations between Boots and Vergil Ortiz Jr. For now, Sebastian will rest and wait for the Boots-Kelly winner and prepare for his next goal of becoming undisputed junior middleweight king.
