Arsenal were just deservedly beaten by Real Betis in Dublin.
Mikel Arteta’s side were nowhere near their best in their second official pre-season friendly of the summer, with Manuel Pellegrini’s men picking up a comfortable 3-1 victory.
Like they always do, many Arsenal fans went on social media for some post-match reaction to the game in Ireland.
Instead, they found out that one of their players has officially joined another club: Christian Norgaard.
Norgaard’s time at Arsenal is over after just one season.
The Dane was a surprise signing for the Gunners last summer. He was brought in to replace Jorginho as the experienced option in the middle of the park.
Norgaard barely played last season, but he ended up fulfilling his dream of playing for Arsenal. He also won the Premier League title with them.
In recent days, reports revealed that Everton are in talks to sign the former Brentford captain, and that deal is now done.
Just a few minutes after Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat to Real Betis, the Toffees announced on their social media that they have completed the signing of Norgaard on a permanent deal.
Arsenal have officially announced the same, and the Denmark international will play under David Moyes at Goodison Park in the upcoming campaign.
Fans will not be too bothered about losing Norgaard, especially as a replacement has already been lined up: Bruno Guimaraes.
The Brazilian is on his way to London to complete his medical ahead of finalising his £75 million move from Newcastle United.
