Mark Lawwell lands Chelsea role two years after Celtic exit

He has already started work there as a senior scout, identifying potential signings for the club, according to the Scottish Sun.

Lawwell spent a decade with the City Football Group, including a spell as head of international relations and scouting.

He also worked with Ange Postecoglou at Yokohama F Marinos before following the Australian to Celtic.

At Celtic, he helped recruit Alistair Johnston, Yang Hyun-jun, Alexandro Bernabei, Gustaf Lagerbielke, Maik Nawrocki and Paulo Bernardo.

He also played a role in the move for South Korean striker Oh Hyeon-gyu. Nicolas Kuhn was among his final notable additions at the club.

Lawwell resigned as Celtic’s head of first-team scouting and recruitment in March 2024.
