Gary Neville has hit out at the poor performances and conduct of Manchester United’s players on and off the pitch.
Michael Carrick looks set to pay for Manchester United’s failures with his job. The Red Devils boss vowed a ‘different’ performance from his team, only for his players to deliver their worst home performance of the season.
Messi and Ronaldo RUINED the Ballon d'Or
The 3-0 loss to Bournemouth leaves United in 16th place, and another manager will be tasked with having to try and turn the club’s fortunes around.
Carrick’s former teammate Gary Neville fumed at the state of Manchester United following the defeat, frustrated that the manager will be the inevitable fall-guy for the players letting him down.
Neville told his podcast that Carrick will be too classy to reveal his true ‘disgust’ for Manchester United’s players.
“They’ve teased him, haven’t they? They’ve conned him for a few months. They have, they’ve conned him.”
“He’ll never say this publicly because he’s got class. I can say it for him, though. He’ll look at those players with disgust. Some of them, you’ll be disgusted with some of those players.”
United lost the game 3-0… do you still agree with the decision not to give Bruno ANY minutes?
Maybe relegation is the only thing that would force the Glazers and Ineos out? Obviously relegation would be tough but if the parasites leave then maybe its worth it. United is going nowhere under these frauds anyway.
Agree with this! I'd rather have a squad of kids who give their all then this bunch of fakes who walk around the pitch when the going gets tough... Its even more ridiculous when you think about how much these players earn week in and week out
You finally got a chance to project. You've just silently hated him 'for years'.
Bruno Fernandes was axed from the Manchester United starting line-up against Bournemouth, and then remarkably, he was not even brought off the bench. Carrick insisted it was a simple footballing decision.
While Fernandes has not been in form, his axing was more to do with his criticism of Carrick’s tactics after the loss to Como.
Neville made clear that he was disappointed with Fernandes’ actions, commenting: “This is not a time for whining, throwing your arms up in the air.
“This is time for you to stand up and say, ‘That’s not good enough, and I’m going to go and see the manager tomorrow because we’re going to go out against Bournemouth on Sunday. You know, I’m going to feed back into the manager. I want to get this right with him. You know, he’s someone who’s played for the club. We’re going to get on the front foot again.’
“Be positive, you know, do something with a positive influence as a captain, but he’s not. He’s gone and basically thrown his manager under a bus.”
Neville believes that Fernandes’ public frustration is only the tip of the iceberg of discontent behind the scenes at the club.
“If Bruno’s turned on him publicly with that little statement, imagine what they’re like behind the scenes if that’s your captain saying that. Imagine what they’re saying in the dressing room behind closed doors when no one’s listening. That’s horrific.”
Without naming any names, Neville added that there are some individuals in the United dressing room who are not as professional as they should be.
He revealed: “There’s a few of them aren’t that professional because a couple of them, I live in Manchester, they’re not that professional, some of them. So, I’ve got no time for them. You know what I mean?
“There’s a few of them that don’t go to bed at the right time, don’t eat the right things, don’t think about Manchester United every single minute of every single day, that are not living and breathing this football club as they should be like professionals should.”
