Former Chelsea winger Pedro has announced his retirement from football, with a host of his ex-teammates at Stamford Bridge reacting to the news.
Pedro played 206 games for the Blues, scoring 43 goals and assisting 26 in what proved to be a successful period of time in West London.
The Spaniard played a key role in Chelsea winning the Premier League under Antonio Conte, as well as an FA Cup trophy and scoring in the final of the Europa League against Arsenal.
You can choose anyone!
His incredible time at the club makes it no surprise that a number of his former teammates took to Instagram to respond to Pedro’s retirement post with warm wishes for his future outside of the game.
Former Blues left-back Marcos Alonso said: “Thank you brother! Congratulations on everything! 🙌🙌🙌 number 🥇on and off the field.” Alvaro Morata joined in with: Brother! Thank you for being you!!! One of the best ever.”
Victor Moses was another member of the title-winning side to wish him well, joining Davide Zappacosta, Kepa Arrizabalaga and a host of others.
Reece James is the only member of the current Chelsea squad who played alongside Pedro during his time at Stamford Bridge. The club captain is yet to post at the time of writing, although surely will do so in the near future.
Pedro joined Chelsea in 2015 after winning nearly every trophy that was on offer for both club and country whilst representing Barcelona and Spain.
He would frequently start in a devastating front three under Antonio Conte, joining Eden Hazard and Diego Costa in attack as the Blues coasted to another league title.
He would feature heavily in sides managed by Maurizio Sarri and Frank Lampard too, playing all the way until 2020 before finalising a move to Roma.
He would end his playing career at Lazio, leaving behind a legacy that defines description at a number of clubs, Chelsea included.
