Swindon Town U18s pull off remarkable FA Youth Cup comeback

After a few seasons of real success at youth level, particularly the run to the quarter-finals of this competition in 2023/24, this young Swindon team were eager to follow in their footsteps.

Street took an early lead when they converted a penalty in the 15th minute after a foul inside the area, making it one-nil.

Despite a shaky start, Swindon began to find their rhythm, with several promising chances, with Louis Millard having an effort blocked.

However, Street doubled their lead after 37 minutes as Swindon were building up a head of steam, giving them a mountain to climb.

They quickly began their ascent and halved the deficit before the break, as Lucas Griffiths-Brown came up with a stunning goal, lashing the ball into the top corner in the 43rd minute.

Eight minutes into the second half, Swindon were back level, with Jacob Hagan tapping in from close range.

With momentum firmly on their side, the young Robins pressed for a winner. Briel Da Costa was instrumental throughout, creating several chances.

His persistence paid off when his deflected cross in the 82nd minute found the back of the net, securing a remarkable three-two victory for Swindon.
