Uros Medic won't underestimate Kevin Holland.
Medic (14-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC) takes on veteran Holland (29-15 MMA, 16-12 UFC) on the UFC 334 main card Nov. 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York (Paramount+).
Since 2021, MMA Junkie's 2020 Male Fighter of the Year Holland has been alternating wins and losses. He snapped a two-fight losing skid by defeating Randy Brown at UFC 327.
"He's a very lanky and a very unorthodox fighter," Medic told MMA Junkie Radio of Holland. "Very experienced, seasoned veteran, has been through like tough battles, knows how far he can go without having to like be worried, 'Oh, I'm getting finished,' or 'This is not a bad punch' or 'This is bad.' You learn these things with time in octagon, you get hit, you fall and you're like, oh yeah, this is nothing, and then sometimes it's like panic mode. So with seasoned guys, then you've really got to be cautious. They trick you. You think you might have hurt him, but then they just explode out of nowhere or come up with some submissions.
"We've seen Kevin do that a lot. I think it's always important to be cautious with those guys because when you're a seasoned fighter, when you're an older fighter, and you are in the sport and in the business where men, I can say, die young or retire young, that means that you've been doing something right. He's already had, how many – 30 fights in the UFC? That's so exceptional. It's unbelievable, so you've got to put respect on that no matter what, and he's fought the best. He's fought title challengers, he's fought champions, he's fought so many good guys. It's pretty crazy, and I'm excited for this matchup."
Medic, who knocked out his past four opponents in a row, is a slight favorite over Holland. He finished Daniel Rodriguez in his first UFC headliner in August.
