New England Patriots wide receiver Mack Hollins is set to return to practice on Wednesday. By doing so, he would end his four-game stint on injured reserve.
This was reported by NFL insider Ian Rapoport on Wednesday morning.
Hollins suffered a non-contact calf injury against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4 and was officially placed on injured reserve on October 10. His return would boost a Patriots wide receiver room that desperately needs it, especially with Romeo Doubs out with a shoulder injury and A.J. Brown fighting through an ankle and knee injury.
Hollins has proven to be one of quarterback Drake Maye's most reliable downfield targets, and his veteran presence on the field would be an added boost to a unit that was down to just DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Efton Chism III last week.
Hollins has recorded 15 catches for 209 yards for the Patriots this season.
The timing of his potential return is ideal for the Patriots, with the team slated to face the Green Bay Packers at Gillette Stadium this week and then travel to Munich for an international showdown with the Detroit Lions the following week. They are entering one of the tougher stretches of their regular season schedule, and they'll need all of the help they can get to come out on top.
