Christian Watson, Matthew Golden are delivering for the Packers

Although Green Bay’s running game should get a boost on Sunday with the return of Josh Jacobs, the passing game is getting it done.

Receivers Christian Watson, with 538 yards, and Matthew Golden, with 501, are the first Packers teammates to have more than 500 yards receiving through six games of a season in franchise history.

Quarterback Jordan Love is fueling it. He and Bills quarterback Josh Allen are the only players with two or more total touchdowns in every game this season. If Love does it again at Detroit, he’ll join Brett Favre (1995) and Aaron Rodgers (2011) as the only other Packers quarterbacks to do that through the first seven games of a season.

In the years when Favre and Rodgers did it, they won the NFL MVP award.

The Packers, who started 1-2, are looking for their fourth straight win. They haven’t lost since the boo-inducing Lambeau Field opener on a Thursday night against the Falcons.
