Cristiano Ronaldo officially sells former Atletico Madrid defender

Cristiano Ronaldo has enjoyed one of the greatest careers in football history.

He has starred for Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al Nassr while winning countless trophies along the way.

During his nine years at Real Madrid, he regularly came up against fierce city rivals Atletico Madrid, producing several iconic performances against them.

The Portuguese icon has also seen his future become a talking point once again in recent months.

After reversing his retirement decision following Portugal’s World Cup exit, Ronaldo has confirmed he wants to continue playing internationally.

Meanwhile, he also remains focused on his growing football ownership interests away from the pitch.

One of those projects has now seen another player officially depart ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Cristiano Ronaldo sells another player

Earlier today, UD Almeria officially confirmed that Marko Perovic has completed a permanent transfer to Polish side Rakow Czestochowa.

Perovic, 20, can operate as either a left-back or winger and only joined Almeria in 2024 before initially featuring for the club’s reserve team.

He later broke into the senior squad, making 12 first-team appearances before spending the second half of last season on loan with Atletico Madrid B.

The move means Perovic leaves Spain after two years.

Rakow have handed the Montenegro international a fresh opportunity in Poland’s top flight.

Cristiano Ronaldo became a 25 per cent shareholder in Almeria earlier this year.

That means the Portuguese legend now has a direct role in the club’s long-term sporting project as they continue reshaping the squad.

While Perovic’s spell at Atletico Madrid’s reserve side was only temporary, it still gave the youngster valuable experience within the system of one of Spain’s biggest clubs before returning to Almeria.

The transfer continues another busy summer for Ronaldo’s club.

Departures and arrivals are expected as preparations continue for the 2026/27 campaign.
