Amid concerns that Sunday afternoon’s game against Leeds United could be postponed due to Storm Boelo, Sunderland have posted a statement on their official X account.
Leeds will be looking to end a run of three Premier League games without a win, after travelling north to take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light. But they may not get the chance to fight for three points.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin among injury doubts for Leeds at Sunderland 😬 What changes are you making to this predicted XI?!
An amber weather warning has been put in place regarding Storm Boelo, with the Met Office ordering fans to prepare for disruption to their travel plans. By kick-off, it is claimed wind speeds could be 26mph.
It’s a nightmare for travelling fans when this happens. But at the time of writing, the game is due to go ahead and is still scheduled to kick off at 4:30pm. Sunderland have confirmed as much on their X page.
“Despite ongoing storm and adverse weather conditions, the Premier League fixture between Sunderland and Leeds United at the Stadium of Light this afternoon is currently scheduled to go ahead as planned.
“Supporters are encouraged to allow extra time for their journey, arrive early, and take extra care when travelling. Supporters are advised to keep an eye on official Club channels for further updates.”
Leeds are yet to post a statement, but perhaps it comes as little surprise given Sunderland are playing host. If the game does go ahead, Daniel Farke will be hoping for his second career win v the Black Cats.

It looks as if, three hours away from kick-off, the fixture will go ahead. But will Dominic Calvert-Lewin be a part of the side? Alongside Noah Okafor and Anton Stach, the trio were missing from the training video.
Okafor has an adductor issue, and the chances are that the Swiss star will be missing. But for Stach and Calvert-Lewin, there is a possibility that both could be available on Sunday at the Stadium of Light.
Farke will be desperate for Calvert-Lewin to be available, given his impressive record against the Black Cats – and his poor one. Leeds drew 1-1 in the same fixture last season, with Calvert-Lewin netting.
