Former Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson may be taking his talents from the CBS studio to the sideline of North Carolina State.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported that Wilson interviewed for the Wolfpack's open head coaching job on Tuesday. Before transferring to Wisconsin in 2011, Wilson played both baseball and football at NC State from 2008-10. Wilson was drafted in the fourth round of the 2010 MLB draft by the Colorado Rockies, playing minor league ball before ultimately deciding that football was going to be his sport. Wilson transferred to the Badgers, and the rest was history.

After a 10-year tenure with the Seattle Seahawks, during which time he appeared in two Super Bowls, winning one, Wilson ended up in Colorado as a member of the Broncos from 2022-23. Wilson was then released by Denver ahead of the 2024 season and bounced around the NFL for several teams before retiring and joining CBS' "The NFL Today" earlier this year.

Wilson made his TV return to Denver last Sunday, correctly predicting a Broncos win against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8 and poking at coach Sean Payton.

Wilson could join a list of former NFL stars to once again get their second wind in the college ranks, alongside names like Deion Sanders (James Madison and Colorado), Eddie George (Bowling Green) and DeSean Jackson (Delaware State).

However, it seems like Wilson may have some competition from Denver's former AFC West foe, Philip Rivers, who also interviewed for the head gig last week.
