The first half at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, where Chelsea are facing Everton, was exciting, but had no goals.
That changed almost instantly in the second period. Chelsea started the game playing some football but ended up drawn into a battle with Everton as the first half went on. At the start of the second they had cooled their heads and went back to playing football – and it paid off right away.
It was Morgan Rogers who once again made the difference. He held off a defender and played in Jorrel Hato on the overlap.
With four Everton players around him, Hato cut the ball back across the box. Cole Palmer’s run across the goal had taken another defender with him, leaving Pedro Neto free at the far post.
It still wasn’t an easy chance – he had to take a calm touch and finish past Jordan Pickford – but the Portugal winger did well.

Chelsea risked a red card as tensions boil over at the Hill Dickinson, but this goal should ease the tension majorly.
Xabi Alonso insisted before this game that Chelsea had enough in midfield despite losing Reece James to injury this week.
Chavarria was out of the team, and we had already speculated that it must be an injury.
