Rams PFF grades: Best and worst performers in win vs. Raiders

The Los Angeles Rams got their third win of the season on Sunday when they beat the Las Vegas Raiders in convincing fashion, 35-21. They dominated the first half, jumping out to a 28-6 lead on the Raiders, and despite a lull in the third quarter, they held on with a strong fourth quarter.

Pro Football Focus graded every player who took the field, and we broke them down by the best and worst performers on offense and defense. Puka Nacua and Blake Corum led the way on offense, while Jaylen Watson and Shaun Dolac topped the defense.

Here are the most notable PFF grades (min. 10 snaps).

Top 5 offense

  • WR Puka Nacua: 86.8

  • RB Blake Corum: 86.0

  • RT Warren McClendon Jr.: 75.2

  • RB Kyren Williams: 71.5

  • QB Matthew Stafford: 70.5

Nacua caught eight passes for 68 yards and a touchdown, doing most of his damage around the line of scrimmage and picking up yards after the catch.

Corum and Williams were both excellent, rushing for 93 and 99 yards, respectively. Corum forced two missed tackles and Williams forced eight, each scoring a touchdown in the win.

McClendon did a great job against Maxx Crosby, allowing only two pressures and no sacks in the game.

Stafford took what the defense gave him, making zero big-time throws but also committing zero turnover-worthy plays.

Top 5 defense

  • CB Jaylen Watson: 90.7

  • LB Shaun Dolac: 84.3

  • LB Omar Speights: 83.5

  • CB Josh Wallace: 78.7

  • DT Ty Hamilton: 77.3

Watson had arguably his best game as a Ram, breaking up four passes and allowing just two receptions for 17 yards on eight targets.

Dolac played just 14 snaps, per PFF, but he made three tackles and didn't have any misses.

Speights was great in this one, making five tackles, two of which went for a loss. He did miss two tackles, though.

Wallace allowed four catches on eight targets but they went for a total of 22 yards.

Hamilton recorded one pressure and two tackles in place of Poona Ford at nose tackle.

Bottom 5 offense

  • TE Davis Allen: 63.2

  • WR Konata Mumpfield: 61.7

  • TE Tyler Higbee: 59.4

  • WR Jordan Whittington: 56.4

  • WR Tutu Atwell: 50.0

The Rams' bottom-five players on offense were all pass catchers. Allen scored two touchdowns and was solid as a blocker, earning a respectable 59.2 run-blocking grade and 77.6 in pass protection.

Mumpfield, Whittington and Atwell were all mostly non-factors. Mumpfield caught one pass for 15 yards, but Whittington and Atwell did not have receptions.

Higbee had two catches for 14 yards, with his best play being a 15-yard reception on third down in the fourth quarter.

Bottom 5 defense

  • DT Larrell Murchison: 56.5

  • OLB Josaiah Stewart: 53.9

  • DB Quentin Lake: 52.1

  • S Kam Curl: 51.0

  • S Jaylen McCollough: 30.4

Murchison didn't have any pressures but did have one tackle in the win.

Stewart didn't really make his presence felt, recording just one pressure in the game.

Lake allowed five catches on six targets for 67 yards, and committed two penalties, as well.

Curl allowed four catches for 26 yards and missed one tackle.

McCollough struggled against the Raiders, missing three tackles and allowing a team-high 71 yards in coverage.

Other notables

  • DT Aaron Donald: 71.9

  • LT Alaric Jackson: 67.8

  • TE Colby Parkinson: 65.6

  • OLB Byron Young: 57.1

Donald had one pressure and one stop, also getting into the backfield in a flash on one of the Raiders' two-point conversion attempts.

Jackson didn't allow a single pressure in his return from suspension, doing a great job on the left side.

Parkinson had a drop that led to an interception by Stafford, but he also played through a ton of pain and made plays when the Rams needed him to.

Young tied with Wesley Bailey for the team lead with two pressures, and he was in coverage on Tre Tucker's 41-yard reception.
