Pro Football Network's Jacob Infante has the Denver Broncos selecting 23rd in the first round of his 2027 NFL mock draft, adding Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown at that spot. Infante views the Broncos as a team still reeling from the departure of Dre Greenlaw, and Infante believes Greenlaw's replacement, Justin Strnad, hasn’t panned out as they would have liked.
Infante likes Brown for his production so far at Clemson. He's racked up 186 tackles, 10 sacks and 25 TFLs in his two years so far.
“Sammy Brown is my early favorite for top linebacker in the 2027 NFL Draft," Infante wrote for PFN. "He’s a reliable, physical tackler who has combined for 186 tackles, 10.0 sacks, and 25.0 tackles for a loss in his first two years at Clemson. He’s still developing in coverage, but his straight-line athleticism, combined with his tackling form, play strength, and instincts against the run project him well in the NFL.”
While the Broncos are sitting pretty good at 4-2, looking ahead to building the team out for next year never hurts. Brown will be a name to watch as Denver considers addressing the linebacker position next offseason.
