World Series Game 1 tickets surge above $3K, nearing Super Bowl level

The price to get into Game 1 of the World Series when the Tampa Bay Rays visit the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday night has soared to near Super Bowl prices.

The get-in price for Game 1 at American Family Field reached $3,107 by midday Tuesday, according to TicketData.com. That slightly was down from a spike to $3,169 on Monday night after the Rays clinched the American League Championship Series against the Cleveland Guardians, but still represented a 14% increase over the past three days.

By comparison, the get-in price for tickets to Super Bowl LX in February settled at $3,361 hours before the game won by the Seattle Seahawks over the New England Patriots in Santa Clara, Calif.

"If the price for Game 1 holds, that would set a record for the most expensive World Series game ever," TicketData.com's Keith Pagello told Field Level Media.

According to the service, the highest get-in price to a World Series game in history was for Game 4 between Cleveland and the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in 2016. The get-in price 90 minutes before first pitch for that game a decade ago was $1,809.

That topped the $1,609 get-in price for Game 3 the previous day.

Third on the list was the $1,584 get-in price for Game 3 between Houston at Washington in 2019. The most expensive World Series get-in price since then was $1,377 for Game 7 between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Blue Jays in Toronto last year.

Game 2 of the 2026 World Series will also be in Milwaukee, with the get-in price up 7% over the past three days to $2,748. The get-in price for Games 3-5 in St. Petersburg, Fla., are the three lowest among the potential seven games.

Milwaukee and Tampa Bay are each seeking the first World Series title in franchise history.

This will be the Rays' third appearance in the World Series after they won three consecutive games to eliminate the Guardians on Monday. Tampa Bay fell in five games to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 and in six games to the Dodgers in 2020.

The Brewers swept the Dodgers in the National League Championship Series to reach their first World Series in 44 years. Milwaukee made its only previous World Series appearance as an American League team in 1982, falling in seven games to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Milwaukee won two of the three games against visiting Tampa Bay during the regular season in a series played March 30-April 1.
