Michael Carrick has shared injury updates on Patrick Dorgu and Carlos Baleba ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa at Old Trafford.

The 45-year-old Manchester United manager sat down with members of the press at the Carrington training complex for Friday afternoon’s pre-match media conference.

Carlos Baleba — MISS

Carlos Baleba will now miss Manchester United’s Premier League showdown with Aston Villa after his setback in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.

The 22-year-old Cameroonian midfielder was forced off early in the second half of Man Utd’s 3-2 comeback win over Roma at Old Trafford due to a hamstring injury.

“Carlos, we don’t know, but it will be a number of weeks,” Michael Carrick said at his press conference, as per the Manchester Evening News.

Marcus Rashford — DOUBT

Marcus Rashford has not been in the Man Utd matchday squad for the last four matches under Carrick after a persistent hip issue in the 2026-27 campaign.

The 29-year-old England international’s last appearance came in October during United’s 2-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in their Champions League clash in Spain.

Patrick Dorgu — DOUBT

Patrick Dorgu has been working on his return to full fitness for United after his hamstring injury during the extended October international break with Denmark.

The 22-year-old Danish full-back and winger has missed the Red Devils’ last seven matches across all competitions and has not featured for Man Utd since September.

“Pat has done a little bit of training, very small [amount]; we have to be patient with Pat,” Carrick explained.

The 2022 World Cup winner picked up two bookings in the second half at Stamford Bridge and Lisandro Martinez will serve a one-match Premier League suspension.

Benjamin Sesko — MISS/ABSENT

Benjamin Sesko has been ruled out of action until next January after an injury to his shin, following a recurring problem in the region since the 2025-26 campaign.

The 23-year-old Slovenia striker has been reduced to six matches across all competitions this season and has netted twice when he has been available.

Manuel Ugarte — MISS/ABSENT

Manuel Ugarte will miss the remainder of 2026 and is expected to return to United first-team action in 2027 after his injury during the World Cup last summer.

The 25-year-old Uruguayan midfielder has been working on his rehabilitation at the Carrington training complex after his successful knee surgery back in July.
