Reds and Luton fined

Barnsley and Luton Town have been fined £13,500 by the FA after a ‘mass confrontation’ in their game at Kenilworth Road on October 20.

A skirmish broke out in the dugouts involving players and staff which appeared to be sparked by a frosty handshake between Reds boss Daniel Stendel and Luton manager Jack Wilshere – both of whom played down the incident after the game.

Both clubs admitted the charges and the FA said they ‘failed to ensure that their players and/or technical area staff did not behave in a way which was improper and/or provocative after the full-time whistle.’
