For more than four decades, WWE has been home to some of the most iconic names in professional wrestling. Legends such as Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker defined entire eras and became global stars, while modern greats like Roman Reigns have continued to elevate the company and carry its legacy into a new generation.

With so many unforgettable performers leaving their mark on WWE, narrowing the field to just 35 of the greatest is no easy feat. Comparing stars from different eras, styles, and generations is always subjective, making any definitive ranking a challenge.

Still, we've taken on that challenge. By evaluating a range of factors—including in-ring ability, championship success, longevity, influence, and overall impact—we've ranked the 35 greatest WWE Superstars of all time. Before diving into the list, here's a look at the criteria used to determine our rankings:

Ranking factors

  • Championship wins
  • Longevity in the company
  • Microphone work and charisma (ranked from poor and okay, to good and excellent)
  • Impact on the wrestling business

Now that's out of the way, let's get started. Here are the 35 greatest WWE wrestlers of all time, ranked.

35 Batista

Batista

Starting the list is Batista. The Animal did a lot within the squared circle during his time as a WWE Superstar, mastering the art of being both a heel and a face. A product of Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), coming up at the same time as Brock Lesnar and John Cena, his career took off in 2003 when he was placed in the iconic Evolution faction.

With a short but sweet CV of achievements, Batista skipped the mid-card titles and only focused on World Championship success. A six-time World Champion, he also found the time for four reigns as a Tag Team Champion. Having been teased with a Hall of Fame induction for a few years, it is more than deserving for what he produced during his career.

34 Sheamus

After only just leaving WWE upon the expiry of his contract, Sheamus only started to receive his flowers in recent years. One of the toughest in-ring competitors WWE has ever had, the Irishman was a mainstay on the product for nearly two decades. Arriving in the States in 2006, the Celtic Warrior has had numerous ups and downs, but has always managed to weather the storms.

A four-time World Champion, King of the Ring, Money in the Bank, and Royal Rumble winner, his makeshift tag team with Cesaro provided him with five reigns as a Tag Team Champion. Boasting a list of matches that rank as some of WWE's best, he was only one title away from coveted Grand Slam status.

33 Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy

The Charismatic Enigma is next on our list, and despite Jeff Hardy enjoying a fantastic career within the squared circle, he still remains one of WWE's biggest 'What ifs?'. Reaching immense levels of popularity around 2008, troubles outside the ring caught up with Jeff and his career at a main event level ended up paying for it.

Regardless, the tag team specialist will still go down in history. One-half of one of WWE's most successful tag teams, The Hardy Boyz, the current TNA wrestler, also forged a thriving singles career for himself. A three-time World Champion and five-time Intercontinental Champion, alongside a plethora of other achievements, Jeff Hardy will forever be adored by the WWE Universe.

32 Razor Ramon

WWE Razor Ramon

Razor Ramon, also known as Scott Hall, is a two-time Hall of Fame entrant remembered for his 'bad guy' persona. A charismatic wrestler, Ramon's patented slicked-back hair and toothpick made sure no one changed the channel when he was on screens.

A four-time Intercontinental Champion, he is regarded as one of the best wrestlers to hold the belt, giving it the prestige it still holds to this day. One-half of one of WrestleMania's best matches, a Ladder Match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania X, Ramon's blend of athleticism, charm, and crowd work makes him one of the best wrestlers in WWE history.

Entertaining fans, regardless of whether he was a face or heel, he made it cool to be hated. One of the most deserving wrestlers of a World Championship run that never happened, he is living proof that hard work pays off and dreams do come true.

31 Trish Stratus

Trish Stratus on WWE Raw

One of the greatest women's wrestlers of all time, Trish Stratus is a trailblazer who paved the way for women's success in WWE. The Canadian-born wrestler holds the record for the most WWE Women's Championships reigns, with seven, and is one of only four women's wrestlers to have a reign last over a year.

Managing to transcend away from countless suggestive storylines, her feud with Lita put women's wrestling on the map as something that can be treated as equal to men's.

Stratus retired in 2006, regarded as one of the best women's wrestlers ever, and it was an opinion that was validated upon her 2022 return. Making full-time appearances at 46 years old, she won the Tag Team Championships and looked as if she had somehow gotten better in the ring. A 2013 Hall of Fame entrant, Stratus, and many women's wrestlers of that era, will always be held in high regard for what they did for the industry.

30 Chyna

Chyna celebrates with the Intercontinental title

The Ninth Wonder of the World, Chyna's nickname perfectly describes her. A towering wrestler, she was one of the first women's wrestlers to possess a size that presented her as equal, if not more intimidating, than her male counterparts. It is because of this that she became the first and only women's wrestler to hold the Intercontinental Championship.

Remembered for her work alongside D-Generation X, she paved the way for the likes of Rhea Ripley, wrestlers who shouldn't feel shame but be celebrated for being larger than life.

A 2019 entrant into the Hall of Fame, as well as a former Women's Champion, Chyna was voted as the fourth-greatest WWE Women's Superstar in 2021. Remembered for beating the best of the men's and women's divisions, history has been kind to Chyna.

29 CM Punk

CM Punk's WWE career can be split into two separate runs. Both of those being iconic, he achieved unimaginable success during his first stint as a WWE Superstar. Moving to the Stamford-based giant after success on the independent circuit, many doubted Punk had the right look or attitude to succeed.

However, five reigns as World Champion later, and some of WWE's greatest matches, and the Best in the World proved why his nickname is so. Returning to the company in 2023 after nearly a decade away, the Voice of the Voiceless hasn't lost a step. Embarking on a fantastic feud with Drew McIntyre, Punk achieved his lifetime goal of main-eventing WrestleMania in 2025.

28 Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch

One of WWE's most popular women's wrestlers, Becky Lynch, has reached unforeseen heights throughout her career as a WWE Superstar. Starting off at NXT in 2013, she was always viewed as the fourth member of the Four Horsewoman, with the other members garnering more attention.

However, following the women's revolution and a successful call-up to the main roster, The Lasskicker became one of WWE's most transcendent stars in modern history. Enjoying a run as The Man and Big Time Becks, she is a seven-time Women's World Champion on the main roster, with a litany of other achievements padding a Hall of Fame-worthy career.

27 Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins aligns with Paul Heyman at WrestleMania

Still an active wrestler, Seth Rollins has achieved everything a WWE Superstar could dream of. Emerging as the next big thing following his work as a part of The Shield, his iconic WrestleMania 31 cash-in stands the test of time. With numerous title reigns under his belt, Rollins continues to wrestle as a main event act, evolving as the years have passed. An immense wrestler and just as equally good on the mic, he is one of WWE's most reliable acts.

Having spent the latter part of his career being the bridesmaid and not the bride, Rollins was viewed as the perfect act to put people over or to raise people to the main event scene. With a Hall of Fame entry awaiting him in the future, The Visionary is one of the most memorable acts within modern WWE programming.

26 Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair

Charlotte Flair is arguably the greatest women's wrestler in WWE history. Daughter to Ric Flair, Charlotte has carved out an unmatchable level of success within the women's division. Holding the most combined title reigns of any women's wrestler, she is also the first and only two-time women's Royal Rumble winner. From her matches with her fellow Four Horsewomen stablemates, to a WrestleMania great with Rhea Ripley, she has an all-timer CV of matches to her name.

Still an active competitor, Charlotte's immense success sees her regarded as her own act, something second-generation wrestlers struggle to do. With an in-ring ability that continues to amaze the WWE Universe, Charlotte somehow makes it look easy. Daughter to the legendary Ric Flair, Charlotte's career is yet to be over and is already one of the greatest.
