The team travelled to the east coast on the back of two home victories, but it was the home side who took an early lead.
Scarborough's Jack Glansfield punished Ribblesdale's poor discipline with a penalty, putting them 3-0 up.
The visitors responded with sustained pressure, confining Scarborough to their own 22 for most of the first half.
Ben Coultherd's impressive solo effort and Ryan Sumner's try from an attacking lineout put North Ribblesdale in the lead at half-time, 10-3.
However, the second half saw a complete reversal of fortunes.
Scarborough started strongly, with early tries from Harry Domett and Sam Dawson, both converted by Glansfield, giving them a 17-10 lead.
North Ribblesdale struggled to win and retain possession, conceding penalties and knock-ons.
Further tries from Kahu Craig Te-Ranga and Vytautus Mundingis sealed their fate, with the final score reading 29-10 in favour of Scarborough.
A spokesperson for the club said: "This was a lesson in that Ribb must realise they cannot win games at this level in 40 minutes but must maintain the pressure for the full eighty to take the spoils."
Ben Coultherd stood out as the best back for North Ribblesdale, while Edward Bradley, Sam Smith, and Oliver Drew, before his withdrawal through injury, were the pick of the forwards.
The team will be hoping to return to winning ways when they face Scunthorpe at Grove Park this weekend.
