Fair to say, it has not been an ideal week for Chelsea. Last weekend, the Blues were beaten 2-0 by fierce rivals Tottenham, just the second time Spurs have won at Stamford Bridge in 36 years. Then, on Wednesday night, they were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Liverpool, drawing 1-1 at Anfield before losing on penalties; Wesley Fofana skying the final kick high into the Kop End.
Thus, Xabi Alonso is under enormous pressure to deliver a victory. So, is this a good or bad time to take on Manchester United? Well, the Red Devils are without a win in eight and, following heavy defeats against Como and Bournemouth, it was expected that Michael Carrick would be sacked.
However, seemingly unable to find a replacement, he will take his place in the away dugout. There are so many subplots, making this a Premier League clash you will not want to miss.
In the UK & Ireland, this early kick off on Saturday is being broadcast on TNT Sports 1 and Ultimate, as well as being available to stream via HBO Max.
American Premier League fans waking up early on a Saturday can find Chelsea's clash with Manchester United on USA Network as well as Telemundo in Spanish.
