Former Tottenham Hotspur star Heung-Min Son has shared his deep affection for his former club, expressing pride at seeing fans wear Spurs shirts during his time with LAFC.

Former Tottenham Hotspur talisman Heung-Min Son has delivered an emotional tribute to his former club, revealing that his connection to North London remains as strong as ever. Speaking in comments shared by Hotspur Lane on X and originally attributed to an interview via Eli Kronenberg, the beloved forward discussed what it means to encounter devoted supporters wearing Spurs shirts and his name on the back while playing for MLS side LAFC.

The South Korean star admitted that seeing familiar white and navy shirts across the globe makes him immensely proud, reinforcing his belief that he will always remain an active part of the Tottenham family. Even after embarking on a new chapter in American soccer, Son’s bond with the club and its fanbase has clearly not faded.

Emotional Departures and Lasting Memories in North London

Reflecting on his departure from Tottenham, Son opened up about the genuine heartbreak he felt when leaving the stadium and the supporters who watched him mature into a world-class player and club legend. Acknowledging that it has already been a year and a half since he bid farewell, the forward confessed that he still misses the club dearly and shares the fans’ emotional attachment.

“It’s crazy actually. I’m still part of Spurs, I’m probably the biggest Spurs supporter, so everywhere I go I see Spurs shirts and my name on the back so it makes me so so proud.”

Son’s unwavering loyalty highlights the unique culture forged during his phenomenal years in North London. Whether leading the line under previous managers or following the team’s current journey under Roberto De Zerbi from across the Atlantic, his perspective remains that of a dedicated supporter.

“I cried too when I left the club, amazing club, but I can feel how those fans feel. I’m sad as much as them but sometimes you have a nice goodbye and it’s been almost a year and a half which is a while so I still miss them so I wish them always the best.”

As current players at Hotspur Way strive to reverse their domestic fortunes and climb up the Premier League table, knowing that club icons like Son continue to cheer them on from afar serves as a powerful reminder of the enduring standards and community spirit that define Tottenham Hotspur.
