With Michael Carrick under considerable pressure as Manchester United manager, former Bayern Munich and Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has been touted as a candidate to replace him for some time.

According to Sky Germany, the 39-year-old German coach is still being considered as an option to step in for Carrick should the former England international lose his job at Old Trafford.

Both Fenerbahçe and Juventus have also been linked with Nagelsmann, but the German broadcaster reports that there is no truth to either of those rumours.

The 39-year-old has been out of work since leaving his position as Germany coach following a disappointing round of 32 exit at the World Cup.
