Bohemians have warned fans that the prospect of a partial stadium closure is “hanging over” the club.
In a message to supporters and club members, issued ahead of Friday’s Premier Division clash with Waterford, the Dalymount Park side confirmed that “more significant fines” had been issued.
The latest punishment was dished out because of the use of pyrotechnics.
Bohs reminded fans that a suspended partial closure of the Jodi Stand could be enforced if further incidents were to take place.
Earlier in October, the club wrote to fans to alert them to fines and to the potential of a big reduction in capacity, due to “incidents of pitch encroachment and pyro at our recent games against Galway United and Drogheda United.”
In their latest appeal, the board wrote: “The board of Bohemian FC regrets to inform you that the club has received more significant fines for the use of pyrotechnics at recent games.
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info
“Stadium bans have already been issued to individuals identified for such incidents as well as for pitch encroachments.
“As previously communicated, we already have a suspended partial closure of the Jodi Stand hanging over us as a result of incidents at home games this season.
“We once again must impress upon fans that the league has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to the use of pyrotechnics and ask all in attendance to respect stadium regulations and to cooperate fully with staff, volunteers and officials.”
A partial stadium closure is the last thing Bohs want as they prepare to leave Dalymount midway through next season.
Friday’s game against Waterford is their second last home game of the season, with rivals Shelbourne the visitors on October 23, before Alan Reynolds’ men wrap up their season away to St Patrick’s Athletic.
During the first-half of next season they will play home games at Dalymount on weekend afternoons, before work on redeveloping their famous home ground forces them out of Dublin 7 until construction of a brand new state-of-the-art stadium is complete.
