Jaylen Watson matches Trent McDuffie as NFL's only CBs with these stats

Since joining the Los Angeles Rams this offseason, cornerback Jaylen Watson has been a crucial addition to their defense, using his length and skill set to systematically eliminate opposing wide receivers on a weekly basis.

The two-time Super Bowl champion put in another stellar performance in the team's win over the Las Vegas Raiders, with this stat showing just how dominant he was. According to Next Gen Stats, no other player in the league has had a showing as good as Watson's since teammate Trent McDuffie's Week 2 performance.

He and McDuffie are the only NFL players this season to allow two or fewer receptions and have at least four passes defensed in a single game.

What makes Watson's performance even more impressive is that unlike McDuffie in Week 2, Watson didn't benefit from having his former Kansas City Chiefs teammate on the field with him. McDuffie was forced to miss Sunday's game with a groin injury.

Watson is quickly proving himself as a trusted teammate and lockdown cornerback. In 2026, he has 20 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, nine pass deflections, and one interception. He's certainly making a positive impression on the fan base.
