The Seattle Seahawks’ running game has been nothing short of a disaster for Mike Macdonald through the opening six weeks of their season.

Zach Charbonnet is closing in on a return following his season-ending injury during the playoffs at the start of the year. First-round pick Jadarian Price has also been placed on the injured reserve list following a chest injury suffered in his shaky start to life in the NFL.

Not only are Seattle suffering from injuries but they also have a serious fumbling issue at running back which was on full display against the San Francisco 49ers. Although they lost to a good team, the Seahawks handed easy points over to the Niners due to their inability to keep hold of the ball.

Three 5-0 teams for the first time since 2015? It all hinges on Chiefs vs Chargers this weekend 👀 Who's remaining unbeaten the longest?

The 49ers and Vikings also hold a perfect record.

All of these issues have mounted as the Seahawks watch their former running back Kenneth Walker III tear it up with the Kansas City Chiefs. Amid Seattle’s struggles, Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s Instagram activity has spoken volumes over Walker’s departure.

Next up for the Seahawks is a game at Lumen Field against Walker and the Chiefs. In Walker’s opening four games for the Chiefs, he has racked up 537 rushing yards, which is just two yards less than Seattle’s combined rushing yards across their six games.

NFL on Fox shared this statistic on their Instagram page and a number of eagle-eyed fans noticed that Smith-Njigba liked the post.

Whether Smith-Njigba liked it to show his support of the former Seahawks running back or to acknowledge the error made by the organisation to allow him to leave remains unknown. However, it is clear that the Seahawks are missing Walker’s impact on the field.

Not having either of their starting two running backs fit is always going to hurt the Seahawks but seeing Walker tear it up for the Chiefs must be a bitter pill to swallow. Ultimately, the Seahawks were unwilling to match the number set by the Chiefs to retain Walker’s services.

Whether Walker actually wanted to remain in Seattle is another question. Losing the Super Bowl MVP has proven a huge loss for the Seahawks who will be hoping Charbonnet could make his long-awaited return to the field next week against the Chiefs.
