Texas coach Steve Sarkisian calls out ticket sellers: 'They missed a hell of a game.'

AUSTIN, TX – Steve Sarkisian expressed gratitude for the Texas faithful who filled the stadium to the gills for the team’s 34-27 takedown of No. 7 Mississippi, but he also called out some apparent ticket sellers.

“It was a nice night in DKR,” the Texas coach said. “For our fans, I can’t thank them enough. What an amazing atmosphere and energy DKR was again. For those fans that sold their tickets, they missed a hell of a game tonight.”

If some fans sold their tickets, there was clearly a vibrant resale market, because the crowd of 104,306 exceeded the stadium’s official capacity and ranked as the fourth-largest crowd in the stadium’s history.

The crowd got treated to a virtuoso performance from Texas in the first half, a furious rally from Ole Miss in the third quarter, and a game-winning touchdown run from Arch Manning on a bootleg, when he could’ve been confused for Uncle Peyton.

“We’ve had that play in all season,” Manning said of his winning scoring run. He duped the Rebels with the play-fake and scored without a defender in sight. “It felt good, No one was around.”

Texas overcame three turnovers and 121 penalty yards and earned another signature victory. This pelt goes alongside the September victory against Ohio State and polishes the Texas resume after it endured back-to-back SEC losses.

Raleek Brown rushed for 157 yards for Texas, and the Longhorns defense made it tough on Ole Miss star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who threw three interceptions, including one on the game's final play.

“I thought we played with Texas fight," Sarkisian said. "I thought we played with a lot of pride.”

A full-house crowd saw Texas save its season.
