This weekend, Texas A&M football fans who have suffered through their team's wildly disappointing 4-4 start will get a much-welcome bit of good news in a season that has offered little of it.
They won't have to watch the Aggies play.
Week 9 of the 2026 college football season will come without one of last year's College Football Playoff participants, as Texas A&M will be on bye.
The break in the schedule comes after the Aggies' 31-20 loss last Saturday at No. 10 Alabama, a game in which coach Mike Elko's team led going into the fourth quarter.
Here's what you need to know about Texas A&M's bye:
Texas A&M will not be playing during Week 9 of the college football season, as the Aggies will be on bye.
Texas A&M will return from its bye with a game against a resurgent South Carolina team on Saturday, Nov. 7 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina at 3 p.m. ET.
Following a lackluster 2-3 start to the season, the Gamecocks and embattled head coach Shane Beamer have won back-to-back games against Florida and Tennessee, both of which were ranked in the top 20 of the US LBM Coaches Poll at the time of the game.
