The substitute capped one of the most remarkable nights in the Blues' recent history by scoring the third goal in a 3-0 win, despite United playing much of the game with only nine men following first-half dismissals for Miguel Azeez and Harvey Bunker.
Galvin, who raced clear to seal the victory just after the hour mark, said the occasion was one that everyone involved would remember for years.
"You never really experience that as a player, so it's a good one to have in the memories now,” he told the News & Star.
"It was pretty incredible stuff. I don't think many people here can remember seeing something quite like that.
"I definitely think it's one of those games, being in it or watching it, you'll remember that for a while, winning against 11 when you've got nine."
Galvin watched the extraordinary first-half drama unfold from the bench before being introduced after the break as the depleted Blues regrouped.

Having seen Josh Williams’ superb opener put United ahead before the game was suddenly transformed by the two red cards, he knew his role would be very different from usual.
"It's a great goal from Josh, first and foremost, it's a great finish," he said. "But when you see the two red cards, you know you're definitely coming on as a sub because you're going to need the legs.
"I didn't see the second [red card], but I don't think the first one is a red at all.
"It kind of brings everyone together in that sort of moment because you've got nothing else to do but stick together and keep going.
"You can feel it. You can hear the fans applauding even if you're winning a throw-in and that makes a big difference. It brings everyone together."
That collective spirit was still being discussed long after the final whistle, said Galvin.

"I think we were just talking about the mentality that we've got now," he said of the post-match scenes, which included an on-pitch huddle before United returned to the dressing room.
"We've had a bit of a tough time at the start of the season but now it just shows that if you can get through that sort of game, where you're hanging on and you're not getting out of your own half, there's nothing that can ever test you more mentally."
Galvin's own contribution came when he burst clear to make it 3-0 after Callum Whelan’s goal earlier in the second half had seen United increase their lead.
"Once I'd seen that [Teddy] Jenks had the ball, I knew [their defender] wouldn't catch me," said Galvin, who was eventually put through by debutant Callum Camps.
"He nearly did in the end because I had too much time. I was just happy I could add to that with the third, because then the game's done and you've just got to see it out."
Even then, the defender admitted he found himself in unusual territory as he burst clear just five minutes after coming on.
"I was just happy I scored because it was a terrible first shot,” he smiled. “Luckily I got a second bite at it."
The celebrations which followed will remain among his favourite memories.

"That was a great feeling," he said.
"Have you ever seen Game of Thrones when everyone's running over? I just saw all the lads running…I'm just happy to be a part of it."
There was still a huge amount of work to do after that, as United dug in to ensure Harrogate never found a route back into the contest.
Galvin paid tribute to his team-mates amid a supreme collective effort.
"I definitely felt it in the lungs, to be fair," he said. "It was just non-stop because everything was coming quickly back in.
"You're defending on the edge of your box, and it's really tiring, especially when you've got to concentrate and they've always got an extra two or three men.
"I think Feens [Morgan Feeney] won about 70 headers, and all the lads who started worked a lot harder than me.
"It's credit to them, really, because they put their bodies on the line for 90 minutes."
Despite Carlisle’s depleted numbers, Galvin said he had confidence Carlisle could see the game through.
"Even when I came on at 2-0, you get a feel for the game," he said. "I felt like the lads had it under control and then when you get three, you could see their confidence had kind of gone.
"They were just crossing from too far out and weren't making use of the extra man well enough."
Galvin believes the manner of the victory says plenty about the character within the squad.
"Sometimes we're being questioned over commitment," he said. "But I think it shows that everyone who's in the dressing room really wants to be at the club, and I hope the fans can see that as well."

Galvin was also quick to stress the value of such a remarkable result will ultimately depend on what comes next.
"It only matters if we win on Saturday now,” he said, ahead of this weekend’s trip to Altrincham, which sees ninth-placed Carlisle three points below the play-off places.
"I haven't been paying attention to the table because of the start we've had. We've just got to keep winning one game at a time and then look at it later on down the line when it really matters."
