Joe Thuney discussed unselfishness of Bears offense after Week 7 win

The Chicago Bears had a dominant win over the New England Patriots, even though the 30-24 score does not reflect it. While it was ugly at times, the Bears managed to find a way to win and improve to 5-2 on the season.

Chicago got everyone involved on offense in this win, including wide receivers Luther Burden III and Rome Odunze as well as tight end Colston Loveland, as quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 300 yards in his second straight game.

"Everyone plays for each other, making plays for each other,” said left guard Joe Thuney. “It's a really unselfish team. I love being a part of it."

This was the first time so far this season all three skill players have performed well in a single game. Burden had four catches for 130 receiving yards and one touchdown in the first half. Loveland led the Bears in targets, with 12, the second-most times he has been targeted in his career, for 69 yards and a score. While Odunze started out slow and dropped a touchdown, he finished the game with four receptions for 69 yards and recovered New England’s onside kick to seal the victory for Chicago.

Running back D’Andre Swift also had a good game with Kyle Monangai out for the third straight week. He had 78 rushing yards and 12 receiving yards, along with a touchdown. Tight end Cole Kmet was also involved in the passing game with three receptions for 28 yards, but he left the game in the fourth quarter with a season-ending knee injury.
