WATCH: Jaxon Smith-Njigba finally breaks free for 43-yard TD vs Bears

The NFL’s top receiver, Jaxon Smith-Njigba of the Seattle Seahawks, was having a relatively quiet night against the Chicago Bears until Seattle’s final drive of the first half.

JSN had 55 yards on that drive, including a 43-yard touchdown on third and 10 to give the Seahawks their first touchdown of the game. Kicker Jason Myers missed the extra point, so Seattle was still by a touchdown with a score of 13-9 after the touchdown.

Here is a look at Smith-Njigba’s touchdown, courtesy of the NFL’s official social media:

This touchdown by the Seahawks highlights a recurring problem for the Bears through the first eight weeks of the season. Chicago’s defense keeps giving up touchdowns right before halftime. They did that against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3, as well as the New England Patriots on a defensive breakdown last week on Thursday Night Football.

The Bears had time to get on the board before halftime, but they were unable to get into field goal range. They still went into the half with a 13-9 lead and will receive the second-half kickoff.
