Tottenham retain long-standing interest in electric Norwegian attacker but maintain caution over medicals

Tottenham remain interested in the winger but are taking a cautious approach before making a move.

Tottenham Hotspur maintain a long-standing transfer interest in RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, according to reports shared by Tottenham Transfer News on X.

Club representatives approached Nusa’s camp earlier in the transfer window to explore a potential move to North London.

Spurs officials have tracked the 21-year-old Norwegian international across several transfer windows, following his impressive development in Belgium and Germany.

Despite initiating direct conversations with the player’s camp earlier in the window, Tottenham have not yet formalized a bid, choosing instead to assess their full list of attacking priorities under head coach Roberto De Zerbi.

Historical Medical Concerns Prompt Careful Evaluation

A key factor slowing progress is Tottenham’s insistence on caution regarding physical evaluations. Nusa previously saw a proposed £31.5 million Premier League move to Brentford collapse in early 2024 after routine medical checks flagged potential knee and back issues.

Although the winger subsequently completed a successful transfer to RB Leipzig and represented Norway at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Spurs medical staff remain intent on performing thorough due diligence before sanctioning any heavy financial commitment.

RB Leipzig’s willingness to entertain offers for Nusa remains tied to their own summer squad restructuring. While the German club values the young Norwegian highly, an acceptable bid exceeding £30 million could persuade them to enter formal talks. For Tottenham, keeping Nusa on their shortlist allows recruitment staff to maintain leverage while parallel negotiations continue for primary targets such as Manchester City’s Savinho.

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi remains keen to add explosive wide options capable of operating effectively on both flanks. Dubbed by scouts as a highly technical 1-v-1 specialist, Nusa fits the profile of a direct, press-resistant winger that De Zerbi favors for his possession system.

However, with Tottenham actively weighing parallel options in wide areas, club officials will only proceed if complete physical clarity is established.
