Arsenal and Tottenham could be set to battle it out once again for another transfer target.

Last summer, Eberechi Eze was very close to joining Spurs, before Declan Rice told his England teammate to pick up the phone and call Mikel Arteta.

Arsenal then swiftly decided to swoop in and Eze became a Gooner.

Of course, he would then go on to score five goals between last season’s North London Derbies, including a hat-trick at the Emirates.

Now, Arsenal could have the opportunity to do it again.

Tottenham join Arsenal in race to sign Kenan Yildiz

According to The Times, Arsenal are now considering renewing their interest in Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz.

The Premier League champions initially inquired about the 21-year-old in June, having tracked him throughout last season.

Flashscore report that Tottenham are also monitoring Yildiz in their search for another attacker.

Juventus have maintained they don’t want to sell after giving him a new contract until 2030 in February.

But Arsenal are back at the drawing board following Vinicius Jr’s decision to stay at Real Madrid.

Kenan Yildiz makes sense for Arsenal for the right price

Mikel Arteta is said to be a big admirer of Yildiz. The Turkish international has contributed 17 goals and ten assists across the past two Serie A seasons — decent numbers for a 21-year-old at one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

He came through at Bayern Munich, captaining the U17s, before joining Juventus in 2022 where he has now become one of their best players.

As a quick, dynamic left winger who cuts inside, he is exactly the sort of profile Arsenal are looking for.

After completing the signing of Bruno Guimaraes, Arsenal’s focus is now on improving the attack, and there is an opening on the left flank after missing out on Vinicius.

Christos Tzolis has joined but the plan was always for him to be a backup depth option.

Gabriel Martinelli’s future is uncertain, with his contract situation attracting interest from Galatasaray as well as clubs from Serie A.

If Juventus can be convinced to sell at a reasonable price, Yildiz could be exactly the kind of signing that makes sense on every level.
