Scotland were beaten 38-6 to a strong Irish side in their shinty-camogie international at Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork at the weekend.

Badenoch’s Megan Ralph scored a goal and two points to make up five of the Scots’ overall count, with the other point coming from Kinlochshiel’s Lorna MacRae.

Scotland manager Ross Brown said afterwards: “The girls stuck at it and did all they were asked but the speed and movement of the Irish is something we couldn’t cope with.

“Skye’s Caitlin Maclean and Badenoch’s Roma Fraser were stand-outs for us, but all the players gave their all and are a credit to their clubs.”
