Inter are expected to start Josep Martinez in goal and give Carlos Augusto a place in the XI for Saturday’s Serie A trip to Bologna, although the goalkeeper choice is not confirmed.

TUTTOmercatoWEB’s probable line-up has Martinez ahead of Provedel, while Carlos Augusto is projected on the left flank. Kick-off at the Dall’Ara is scheduled for 18:00 on Saturday, 17 October, in the seventh round of Serie A.

Inter will look to put their Champions League setback behind them and turn their attention back to the league. Bologna arrive after winning at Lecce and are seeking their first home victory since 12 April, when they also beat Lecce. Raffaele Palladino’s side is covered in this Bologna-Inter preview.

Injuries shape both probable line-ups

Lautaro Martinez’s injury affects Inter’s forward selection, while Benjamin Pavard’s absence points to Bisseck, Akanji and Bastoni forming the back three. Bonny is projected to partner Thuram, with Sucic, Barella and Calhanoglu in midfield alongside Luis Henrique and Carlos Augusto on the flanks.

Martinez remains the predicted choice over Provedel, but TUTTOmercatoWEB describes the goalkeeping decision as an open contest. The competition for the position has also featured in coverage of Inter’s goalkeeper rotation.

Bologna are projected in a 3-4-2-1: Pessina; Darmian, Casale, Theate; Zortea, Ferguson, Pobega, Juan Miranda; Bernardeschi, Cambiaghi; Piccoli. Theate is expected to return, while Bernardeschi is tipped to replace the injured Orsolini; Heggem could drop to the bench. Pessina is listed to start, though Skorupski remains in contention.

Inter’s probable XI is Martinez; Bisseck, Akanji, Bastoni; Luis Henrique, Barella, Calhanoglu, Sucic, Carlos Augusto; Bonny, Thuram. Both line-ups remain projections ahead of Saturday’s kick-off.
