Chelsea will be looking to build on their 2-0 win over Manchester United when they face Sunderland on Sunday.

Xabi Alonso’s side travel to the Stadium of Light and have already made an interesting decision heading into the game.

On Chelsea’s official club website, it has been confirmed that the team will be using their black away strip. Given that there is not a colour clash with their home kit and Sunderland’s, it does seem a bit odd.

They also did the same for their visit to Brentford back in September. Hopefully, their away kit brings them a bit more fortune on this occasion!

At the Gtech Community Stadium, Chelsea were beaten 3-0 by their west London rivals. It was their worst performance of the season up until the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in another London derby.

So, what does Chelsea’s record look like in each of their three kits this season? Well, in total, Alonso’s men have played in their home strip 10 times in all competitions. They have won six of those matches, lost three of them (including the penalty shootout defeat to Liverpool) and drawn one.

In their away kit, Chelsea have played just the one game so far, the Brentford loss. As for their third kit, Chelsea have also only used it once this term but managed to win in it after beating Everton 2-0.

What will Sunday’s outcome be? Peter Crouch is backing Chelsea to come out victors and predicting a 4-0 victory. Sunderland have been in dire form this term, although they did beat Chelsea in the same fixture last season.

Malo Gusto and a couple of others had games to forget that day. Chelsea as a whole were poor and surely cannot do any worse this time around.
