Harry Kane and Bayern Munich star agree on Arsenal verdict after Champions League showdown

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane called Arsenal a “good physical team” after the two teams played out an entertaining draw in the Champions League.

Kane scored one and assisted Alphonso Davies for Bayern’s other goal. However, it was not enough for the win as two of his England team-mates ensured the points were shared at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.

Eberechi Eze scored the opening goal of the league phase showdown before Declan Rice equalised in the 82nd minute to steal Kane’s limelight.

Reflecting on the 2-2 draw, the England captain was full of praise for Arsenal and felt the result was a fair one on the balance of play.

"I thought it was a good performance,” he told DAZN. “I think for large spells of the game, especially the start of the second half, we had a real intensity. We looked dangerous, we got the goal and we had a moment to kill the game off.

We had the momentum, they looked tired, but then we got caught in a low block for final 15 minutes and they punished us with the goal

“We had the momentum, they looked tired, but then we got caught in a low block for final 15 minutes and they punished us with the goal.

"The draw was probably a fair result overall. I think we could have been a bit more clinical in the final third. But there are a lot of games, we’ve got a lot of players with injuries who are missing tonight. In the end, we’ll take the point and move on.

"It was a battle. Every duel was important. They look for the second balls and build from there into the game. I thought we dealt with that for most of the game pretty well.

“As the game got a little stretched towards the end, they grew into it and they’re a good physical team. Like I said, with the games we’re playing, it’s about every little detail. We probably didn’t get enough right to deserve the win.”

Kane’s team-mate Tom Bischof - a replacement for Joshua Kimmich - was similarly full of praise for the Gunners.

He said: When you take the lead late, it's disappointing to not take three points. We had good phases in the second half, settled in up front, but Arsenal are a good team. They applied pressure and got their goal.

"This wasn’t just any opponent. We maybe needed to be a little more disruptive and annoying in the challenges as we as clever."
