Penn State WR Zay Robinson could be a spark for struggling offense

Every team has a player whose energy is like a spark to the rest of the team. For Penn State, that player appears to be wide receiver Zay Robinson. He may not be the most talented or most productive player on the team, but his speed and electricity are undeniable.

Robinson has caught eight passes for 122 yards and a touchdown in seven games this season. But his biggest impact just might be on special teams, where he’s among the Big Ten leaders with 19.4 yards per punt return.

He’s shown a knack for making something out of nothing in the return game, and you can see the energy boost it gives the Nittany Lions sideline. The redshirt freshman is one of the most exciting players the team has, and he’ll only continue to improve from here.

Robinson hardly played last season at Iowa State, so the first half of the season was his first real game action. It will be exciting to watch him grow from this point on and hopefully blossom into a star like some of his wide receiver teammates have.
